Can granola help you lose weight?

Yeah, if it's homemade. Store-bought granola contains a lot of processed sugars which are not good for you. And they hinder your progress.




But homemade granola leaves you full for a longer time, provides all the nutrients to kick-start your day and is very good for you. So it actually does help with weight loss. If nothing, simply by opting for it instead of standard, unhealthy breakfast choices. But it really does more than that :)


Here's a simple example:
  1. Mix 5 tablespoons of rolled oats with some almond and walnut, chopped or otherwise.
  2. Grind apple to taste.
  3. Add some water and wait for the oats to soften up. You need just enough water to make all the oats wet. It takes about 20 minutes to half an hour, but can absolutely stay overnight (so you can prep it the night before).
  4. Add about 200g Greek yogurt before eating.
  5. Add honey to taste, just don't go crazy because it's also sugar, albeit natural.
  6. Add spice of your choice, cinnamon and such.
If you leave it overnight, you can add in the apple also in the morning, so it stays fresh.
