The benefits of regular exercise

Or can we say better: the need for sports? People's lives have changed considerably, especially in the last century. We are less and less physically active. Do you ever have the expression "Use it or loose it!" heard? If you do not train certain things, you lose them. This applies to your memory, but certainly also to your muscles and bones.

Keep your body young
During their work many people sit at the computer, in the evening they sit in front of the television and on the way from one to the other they sit in the car. Little movement and that means that you do not maintain your body.

Of course you can not prevent everything with training. After all, we all become older. But your body begs you to use it in a good way. By exercising regularly you strengthen your bones and muscles. Think of your heart, for example, a very important muscle. If you want a healthy and strong heart, you have to work hard every now and then. At the same time the blood flows hard through your veins, preventing the silting up of it. Also bone loss can be partly counteracted by physical activity. It will be clear, movement and sport are very good for your physical health, but you probably already knew that!

Get to know people and at the same time achieve your goals
Sports has many more benefits that you may not have thought of yourself. You can get to know people and make friends at a sports club or in a sports center. With sports you can achieve personal goals. For example, losing a few pounds, running a half marathon, or simply not being exhausted when you have walked up a flight of stairs. You can also constantly adjust your goals, and by working on yourself you get an increasingly better self-image and self-confidence.

Better to relax
In addition, you can also relax better by making regular efforts. Muscles that have become stuck because you are sitting so much can be released again. You can empty your head for a moment by focusing on your sporting task, whatever that is. So you can also relax spiritually by making a physical effort.

There are so many reasons to move and certainly also to exercise. Make sure that you move for at least 30 minutes every day, for example by walking or cycling. If you are going to exercise a number of times on top of that, that is even better. Maybe you are not so sporty built and / or used to a not so active lifestyle. Do not be intimidated by other athletes. What does it matter if other runners walk past you? Or that someone uses much heavier weights in the gym? Everyone has to start someday. Start with your own program. A program that you especially enjoy. Do not start too much at once, it is more important that you hold on to it. Depending on your initial condition, you can slowly build up exercising once a week, up to two or three times. Do not exercise every day because your body needs time to recover. Good luck and lots of sports fun!
